A bit about myself

Hello Class, I felt that although we briefly introduced ourselves on Monday, we didn't spend much time on it, something that I feel is rather important if we are to work together in a highly interactive class over the next couple of months. I will tell you a bit more about myself and I hope that you will do the same. I am looking forward to reading everyone's blogs.

My name is David Holleman and I recently graduated from HCHS located in Dyer, IN. During my time there, I was involved with the school's robotics team as the lead programmer and robot designer. The team, 12043 Power Surge, was always competitive at the State Championship, even winning it on two different occasions over our 5-year lifetime. In fact, had it not been canceled, we would have advanced to the World Championship in our last year as a team.

This year, I am a freshman here at PNW but have already taken a semester's worth of classes by taking them over the summer and during high school. My major is Computer Science and I am minoring in Computer Engineering. I hope to be able to use my degree to work with highly automated systems in the automotive and aerospace industries. I especially like working on projects where the program directly controls the mechanical components. In the past, I have worked on multiple programming projects outside of the robotics team including working on the android app for a logistics company and programming a security system.
